Verne Windham, program Director of Spokan Public Radio, Inc., informs us that the Northwest Bach Festival in Spokane, led by Gunther Schuller, has engaged one of our most popular summer artists, violinist Yuri Namkung, to perform in this year's festival. She'll be playing one of the Biber unaccompanied sonatas on the February 28th concert in Spokane.
Verne reports that he has, "Had a lot of contact with Yuri lately. Among other things, she is in contact with Elizabeth Joy Roe about collaboration. That strikes me as a terrific combination. Yuri continues to strike out in many interesting directions, including her work with the Panama Jazz Festival."
