Get Involved with Music!
A community effort like our festival runs mostly on volunteer power. The fun thing about getting involved is, you meet so many people who share your love of fine music. Here are some ways you can help.
House an Artist
Carolyn Sullivan, who hosts a festival musician in her home every year, says, "Housing a festival musician gives you the opportunity to go beyond the festival, to get to know someone whose talents often extend to other areas, and whose relationship with you takes the festival to another level."
The family provides housing, some meals, and a welcoming spirit. If you would like to host a musician, please call
996 6000 and leave a message for Jennifer Epps at the festival office, or email info@methowmusicfestival.org. If this year doesn't work, ask about next.
Improve the Venue
If you can lift a chair, or even just want to hang out and drink some lemonade, come lend your spirit to our next work party scheduled 10:00am Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Festival grounds. We'll be setting up the stage, chairs, dressing up the yard, cleaning everything, and generally preparing for another fabulous performance season.
To participate, please call Howard or Elisabeth Johnson at 996-0750.
Work Backstage
There is plenty to do before, during, and after each festival. Work backstage and witness the show from a completely different perspective. Meet the artists. Get to know our staff. Our volunteer coordinator is Lotty Ekblad (997-2042).
Sell Your Art
Got art? This year our festival will feature the sale of high-quality visual art. Contact our board chairman to discuss the details, Robert Nelson (996-3640).
Support the festival financially
Your gift creates the music. We appreciate and depend upon the generosity of our friends who believe in our Festival and want to share the joy of classical music with friends and neighbors. Nothing would happen without hard work from
our Artistic Director, Executive Director, members of the board, and many kind volunteers. In all our activities, funding keeps the Festival alive and well.
During the 2010 season, ticket sales paid only 16% of the full cost of each performance. Twice that amount (32%) came from government and foundation grants, sources that are both drying up in the current economic environment. Another 13% came from camp fees and the sales of concessions and other merchandise. The largest block of income, 39%, arrived through the generosity of individual and business contributors.
Every donation counts, no matter how large or small. With your support we can continue to provide professional-quality music and expand our outreach to include more of the community. All gifts are tax deductible. support the festival

If you are not already part of our musical family, why not join the fun? The Methow Chamber Music Festival welcomes every person interested in classical music. You don't need to know anything to get started. Just drop by before a concert and check it out. We'll be here, watching the wildlife, hanging out at the Ice House, buoyed by the uplifting spirit of classical chamber music. 2011 program guide | more festival news
